Missing Transactions

Expecting to see a transaction that isn't there? Here's how to troubleshoot.

Check the Basics First

Is It Too New?

Transactions typically appear in OneBudget within 24-48 hours:

  1. Make a purchase now
  2. It hits your bank within hours
  3. Plaid syncs with your bank
  4. OneBudget receives the update
  5. Transaction appears in your app

Very recent transactions (last few hours) may not have synced yet. Give it time.

Is It Pending?

Some pending transactions may not appear until they post:

  • Check your bank app for pending status
  • Wait for the transaction to fully post
  • Then check OneBudget again

Try Refreshing

Force a sync:

  1. Open OneBudget
  2. Pull down on the main screen
  3. Wait for the refresh to complete
  4. Check if the transaction appeared

Check the Account

Right Account?

If you have multiple accounts connected:

  • Is the transaction in a different account than expected?
  • Check each account's transaction list separately
  • Card transactions go to that card's account, not checking

Account Connected?

Verify the account is still connected:

  1. Go to SettingsAccounts
  2. Look for any warning icons
  3. Reconnect if needed

Account Syncing?

An account might be connected but not syncing:

  • Free tier allows only 1 connected account
  • If you have multiple accounts, only one will sync on free
  • Upgrade to Premium for unlimited accounts

Transaction Types That May Not Appear

Some transactions don't come through Plaid:

Cash Transactions

  • ATM withdrawals show (as "ATM Withdrawal")
  • But cash purchases after that don't appear
  • You'll need to track cash spending manually

Wire Transfers

  • Some wire transfers aren't reported through Plaid
  • Check your bank directly for wire activity

Very Old Transactions

  • OneBudget imports ~90 days of history initially
  • Older transactions won't appear
  • Future transactions sync automatically

Certain Account Types

  • Some investment transactions are limited
  • HSA/FSA accounts may have reduced detail
  • Prepaid cards often have limited support

If Transactions Disappeared

Previously visible transactions shouldn't vanish, but if they do:

Duplicate Cleanup

OneBudget may have removed a duplicate:

  • Pending transactions can become duplicates when posted
  • We automatically clean these up
  • Check if the posted version exists

Account Reconnection

After reconnecting an account:

  • Some historical data may temporarily disappear
  • It usually returns within a few syncs
  • Wait 24 hours before worrying

Data Sync Issue

Rarely, there can be sync problems:

  1. Go to SettingsAccounts
  2. Find the affected account
  3. Tap Remove Account
  4. Reconnect the account
  5. Wait for historical data to reload

Still Missing?

If a transaction should be there but isn't:

  1. Confirm it posted — Check your bank directly
  2. Note the details — Date, amount, merchant
  3. Contact support — Email support@onebudget.ai with details

We can investigate sync issues on our end.

Manually Adding Transactions

Need to track something that won't sync?

Currently, OneBudget doesn't support manual transaction entry. We may add this feature in the future. For now, cash and unsupported transactions aren't tracked.
